European Region of Gastronomy // Central Denmark Region

In 2017 the City of Aarhus and Central Denmark Region was awarded with the title of European Region of Gastronomy under the theme Rethinking Good Food. The title was given to the city and the region as a recognition of the flourishing and thriving food culture, gastronomy and products that are being rethought and developed across the region.

Food Organisation of Denmark serves as secretariat for European Gastronomy Region in collaboration with Business Region Aarhus, Business Region MidtVest, Institut for Meals, Central Denmark Region and European Region of Culture.

The title is awarded by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism. Read more about IGCAT here
